Rejoice the Season!
For this song, I was very unorganized at the beginning. I was trying to uncover the timpani, and make them the right note. I started super late, but the song sounds like it's going to be super fun! I love playing timpani so I think this song will be one of my favorites! Once in a Royal David's City I am playin gsnare drum for this song with Faith. At measure 21 there are a few rythyms that I don't recognize. Also, I don't play at the end for 7 measures. There are also quite a few time changes throughout the song. There is one at measure 14, 19, 28, 33, and 53. I think this song will be fun! How the Grinch Stole Christmas I play bass drum for this song. I only have the first page so I'm not sure how the ending is. At measure 31, the tempo turns over to a swing tempo which sounds fun. Alec and I are on opposite beats so I hope that we stay on time. Christmas Eve / Sarajevo 12/24 I am on mallets for this song. I am not a huge mallets fan, but this song is such a good song for mallets. I play the crotales in the beginning, but I am playing the bells since we don't have crotales. There is a chimes part at 18, and 27, but I'm playing those on the bells when Faith plays them on the chimes. From 71- 82 there is a big bells part. I will probably need to practice it a lot. Christmas Holidays (Mallet Piece) This is the first mallet song I get to do since all the other times I had to do the percussion part. Regan and I have the electric bass part, but we are playing it on the marimba / bass xylophone. It is also in bass clef which I am not used to. There are sharps in the key signature rather than flats which percussion doesn't see a whole lot of. This song switches from Good King Wenceslas to We 3 Kings to Twelve Days to We Wish. This song is mostly basic rhythms throughout the song.
